It is true that another WTOP article reported "Walter Johnson High School students alerted a school resource officer about Snapchat posts showing a former student holding a rifle and threatening to shoot up the school,[b] a detective [/b]told a Montgomery County District Court judge..."

But it was not the the SRO that made the difference in that scenario.  The same exact outcome would have been achieved if there had not been an SRO.
