Lots of staff but are still coming to work due to lack of subs and admin thinking staff are skipping. I am in going in even though I have a cold. I would love to have the day off or delayed. I expect very few kids to come especially with heavy cold rain forecasted
Three kids went home Monday with fevers...two left today sick...I am sick. I'll be there bc no subs. This would be greatly welcome if they just canceled it. (And there are already 7 kids out for vacation tomorrow...) It really is pointless.
Please call out so that you don’t infect a student and ruin a family’s Winter Break. —a fellow MCPS teacher who did coverage the last three days.
Are you sure you're an MCPS teacher? Kids come in sick on a near daily basis. Then they get the other kids sick. Guess what happens? They all still come in. If you are a teacher, try telling that to the parents. Or maybe your admin happens to be decent. Many aren't. I really HOPE you aren't a teacher.
You think all of the other kids are already infected so it doesn’t matter that their sick teacher is a foot away from their unmasked faces? At the very least, she ought to care enough about herself to stay home if she’s sick. However, y’all don’t care about the teacher. Only that she provides your free daycare.
It's not free! I pay my taxes for this childcare!
Hilarious. I do not work, and don't need childcare for my children. When they're sick, they have the luxury of staying home, pampered by their mother. But my mother didn't have that choice - she had to work. So I get it. Most parents in this world cannot afford to stay home and look after mildly sick kids. It's too bad that we treat children and families this way, but I certainly don't blame the parents who need to pay for shelter and food.
