It's pretty terrible that the former superintendent has been charged. So I hope no other area is as awful as Loudon County is being.
It's absolute bs that he is being charged. This is sick political theater and he should sue.
Again, there is reasonable evidence that he broke the law. That's why he's been charged. If you think he is wrongly accused please explain why he didn't break the law. I know that Alexandrians think it's fine when a bathroom rape is covered up but the reality is that it isn't.
You do understand the criminal charges against Ziegler have zero to do with covering up a bathroom rape, right? Are you also familiar with the saying a prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwhich?
Please explain why he is wrongly accused.
In the case of the retaliation charge, that's completely unrelated to the bathroom incidents at the high schools and it's obvious the teacher was fired for violating student privacy. In the case of saying there had been no incidents involving transgender students sexually assaulting other students in bathrooms or locker rooms, that was true. No transgender students have assaulted other students in the bathrooms.
As quoted he says "no sexual assaults" he later back tracked during the meeting and said no assaults by transgender/gender fluid students. The rapist was wearing a skirt and blouse. His mother said that he's "pan sexual" and described gender fluid behavior. If you don't think these charges are appropriate or correct, what do you think the remedy should have been for a school district that failed to report the rape to the state as required by law? For the people who knowingly did that?
I think the responsibility for this mess ultimately lies with the LCSO and not so much the schools. I also think that things said on the dais don't really fall under the category of "deliberate lying" especially given the clarification. The assailant wasn't transgender. And he most certainly wasn't some transgendered student wearing skirts to gain illicit access to a girl's bathroom so he could lay in wait and attack someone at random. I think this is splitting hairs. Not well handled by the superintendent, for sure, but not criminal. And I think the desperation to hang such a weak charge on him validates the accusation that this is a partisan crusade by people who are actually upset about transgendered people who, ironically, are disproportionately the victims of sexual violence.
I'm horrified that a girl was raped in a bathroom, the school/district didn't report it, they moved the rapist who then went on to rape another girl. And obviously a lot of other people are horrified by that too. I find it very sad that the rapes and parent responses to that horror would be simply dismissed as some sort of political anti-trans conspiracy theory rather than two horrible rapes and a school district that lied about it and did nothing to protect girls. The rape of the girls at school is beyond awful (especially since a teacher walked in on the first one and then walked out) and so was the cover up. It may be hard to come to terms with what the school district did but the reaction to it it shouldn't be dismissed as some anti-trans conspiracy. That's a really awful conclusion to come to about fellow parents and human beings. The girls were raped. LCPS covered it up. Just like a girl was raped at Minnie Howard and ACPS and the City government covered it up.
