Some of you have no idea how anything works. If the jeans are loose, wear a form fitting sweater for balance. If the jeans are tight, wear a loose sweater. Try to always have the pants meet the shoe in a way that doesn’t show ankle. This isn’t rocket science.
This. I was happy when we moved on from skinny jeans because I personally think it’s easier to balance proportions when your jeans are actual pants and not just glorified leggings. Skinny jeans look best with either a tall boot or a dainty flat. I can still wear flats with straight leg jeans, but now I feel like I have other options that look balanced with them: loafers, Chelsea’s, combat boots, sneakers, etc. I live in DC, which is only really cold enough that I don’t want to expose ankle for like two months of the year. I wear my Chelsea boots or hiking boots (depending on if I’m dressing up or down) those months. But then I can wear the same jeans the rest of the year with pretty much any of my shoes. Straight leg jeans are much more versatile than skinnies.
