Hmm, always told that solids were for fun until 12 months. So sure, introduce others, but no, they don’t need solid meals at this age.check with your pediatrician
This is EXTREMELY outdated and not true. Solids before 1 are not just for fun. Certain nutrients start to deplete at 6 months and solids become important. please do some research.
This isn’t true. Solids are just for fun until 1 hear. A baby should get the bulk of their nutrition from breastmilk/formula. There are many kids who don’t eat many solids under 1 year for a multitude of reasons and are just fine. Babies at 6 months need more iron as their stores are depleted at that age, and breastmilk/formula isn’t a sufficient source. Between 6-12 months they need 11grams of iron, which equals about 1 cup of fortified cereal or oatmeal for the day. There are also iron supplements for infants. Besides iron, there isn’t any vitamins/nutrients that an infant under 1 can’t get from breastmilk/formula. Solids are largely used to help develop oral motor skills and teach then to use utensils.
