[/quote] The “he won’t go to college like that” trope is the weirdest thing to me. I don’t think that’s anyone’s fear with regard to potty training or hair cutting or whatever. We’re trying to strike the right balance of authority and autonomy so that our kids feel secure and confident, and they go to college with good mental health and competent life skills. I just don’t think it’s a good argument, and it’s condescending. [/quote]
