In case people are too lazy to look, here are the results for the top 3 schools: School SAT AP Walls 1317 89% scored at least a 3 on ONE AP exam Banneker 1088 48% scored at least a 3 on ONE AP exam JR 1050 63% scored at least a 3 on ONE AP exam As far as charters, BASIS DC is by far the top: School SAT AP BASIS DC 1368 40% were AP Scholars, which means they scored at least a 3 on at least THREE AP exams; kids who scored at least a 3 on ONE AP exam was probably in the mid 90s.
Tangentially, as someone who knows a thing or two about statistics, it always annoys me the way DCPS releases non-statistics statistics. "XX% scored at least a 3 on one exam" really tells you nothing about achievement. Without knowing how many exams they are taking, how many kids are taking exams, how many kids are taking AP courses and how many they are taking it's really not possible to compare schools.
