I don’t coach my rec kids to do it, but plenty of other teams do it. basketball is not a delicate sport, so if the yelling is going to rattle your player or you as the parent then you need to be prepared for it to happen. I’m sincere here. I’ve seen it in basketball, lacrosse, and even in volleyball (when someone is serving, for the receiving team to yell and break concentration). Sure it can be in poor taste but it’s sports.

And don’t get me started on parents heckling, in ALL sports, all levels.

If you want something with white glove treatment do golf.  But get your daughter ready for it so she learns to tune it out. [/quote]
