Hi OP,

Since he has trouble recognizing letters, how he is able to recognize his name? Can you ask him how he can tell it is his? I’m wondering what he sees when he sees a bunch of letters together. Is he looking at the first letter? The length of the name? A specific letter that looks like a shape, like an o?[/quote]
My son is dyslexic - 
I can not explain his brain but my assumption was he saw his name as a shape as opposed to 4 distinct letters and was there for able to know it was his name.
