Hello I am the OP. thanks for all the response. To answer some of the "concerns" about me sneaking off with my boy....rest assured that I am NOT! LOL! I just enjoy to travel and would love to share my passion with my child. Non concernig his father...it is no secret that our relationship is not the best but as I have explained earlier he is not over the fact that I left him. We applied together for a passport for our son (who is still an infant) and he knew of my traveling plans prior to this. my problem is with the fact that he wants to play games and think he can control me which I won't allow). We have no custody agreement, were never married (he did sign the birth certificate though). My son carries a different name from me (his dad's). At this point I will take your advices and contact the Italian Embassy and see what they say. Also to clarify my ex never told me I couldn't take Aaron with me to itay...he just doesn't want to help ... I think all of this made me realize it might be time to contact a lawyer and seek full custody (especially since my ex stopped visiting our son 4 months ago and move across the country....)
You cannot legally take your son out of the country without his father's consent. Realize that you may get rejected and fly back at your own expense. Italy, being a conservative country, will likely give you a hard time. they will want to know why you have different last names, why you weren't married to his father, and then probably ask for the note. If you were to go to Amsterdam they probably wouldn't care. FYI
His father never opposed to the journey...He just wants to be an jerk...I'm pretty sure I have made it clear through my previous posts that my ex is just trying to be difficult. He helped me get his passport about 4 months ago ( before he disappeared)for crying out loud! I made an appointment with my attorney and I'm taking this matter to the courts where it belongs. thank you to all those who helped me in making this decision.
Again you dot get it. Without a notarized and signed letter giving you permission to leave the country any nation can and probably will reject you at customs. Afterall they can't trust just your word because them any kid napper could do it.
