People who've had experience with dementia won't realize a thread in Family relationships may need their experience. I'd ask what are the resources or where to get resources to help figure out what this behavior is. My father, in his 80s, has some sort of short-term memory loss that very rarely progresses to full blown dementia. Thank goodness. I never say "Don't you remember? We talked about this yesterday." I always answer the question (sometimes on consecutive days) and move to the next topic. That's not the situation you're describing, as he isn't bringing up some sort of argument. Good luck.
