Look at IIHS's updated side impact tests. Most cars and even SUVs are rating poorly after they updated the testing to reflect that there are more SUVs on the road. I bought a Subaru Outback based on the updated test results. My first choice was actually the Mazda CX-5 but it was too small. The CX-9 probably had similarly good ratings, but I didn't want a 3rd row.[/quote]
