Sounds like you might need the shared risk program but you’d have to contact SGF to see if you qualify. Someone previously posted more info on this here: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/752600.page

I work in DC and live in MD. I decided to drop my work insurance and get insurance through MD exchange. The insurance was around $460 a month (which is increasing to around $515 next year). I think there were cheaper plans but I went with the one with the lowest deductible. I did 3 egg retrievals, 3 PGT-A testing, 2 frozen embryo storage fees and 1 FET. Total costs so far has been $16,500 (including all medication) + $5,520 insurance (for the year 2022) + $120 per month embryo storage fee. Note that PGT-A testing is not covered by insurance. If I had not done PGT-A testing, I could have saved $7,550.

It is currently MD open enrollment if you are looking to switch over. I was told that the insurance covers 3 attempts per live birth and that attempts are counted at FET. OP here: many thanks, this is super helpful! I don't think I would qualify for the Shared Risk program, my ovarian reserve is nearly depleted and I simply wanted to try a few cycles see if anything viable comes out of it at all.

It looks like at the moment I would need "Embryo Banking" program at $21500 for 2 cycles without insurance. From your description above, you didn't do the IVF transfer yet and did frozen embryo preservation only, right? Does Maryland insurance cover eggs retrieval with purpose of preservation and no immediate transfer?

Because injectable IVF meds in the US can cost $5-10k per IVF cycle. If you use one quarter of the meds, they cost one quarter of the price. I had DOR and responded terribly to IVF, but only got 1 more egg with full meds than with low meds. None of the embryos were ever viable, so didn't matter in the end, but no regrets switching to low meds once it became clear that I wasn't going to respond well to high med protocols. [/quote]

I scheduled CNY fertility for January (has to be booked 2-3 months in advance just for intro consult with a nurse). Can a regular clinic like SG prescribe the quarter med/low meds cycle? I remember being offerred it in Germany, and I think he in fact used "lower" stimulation on me due to risk of loosing one remaining ovary [/quote]

It depends on the philosophy of the doctor. Some doctors are cookie cutter practitioners and do not personalize meds. CNY is a 2nd opinion clinic. I bet they would work with you on minimal stim. [/quote]
