Why do westerns even wear shoes in the house? Just take them off like billions of other sane people do in the cultures. Yournrelatives can stay outside and not eat turkey if they have problems with taking their shoes off. Shoes in the house is gross.
   People do. The same reason some people don’t wear shoes, some people choose to wear shoes. That is their home culture. Op, as far as your dilemma, become a shoeless household even for just Thanksgiving. Put a note on the door asking people to remove their shoes or send out a message before dinner. Buy a package of socks in case people feel uncomfortable about their socks or aren’t wearing any. Make sure your floors are super clean so that people feel comfortable walking around in their socks.
