Older third grade standards included the Mayans too. Only learning about the Woodlands native cultures, leaves out a lot of cultures. The tie in second was weak, but at least it considered that the Powhatans are not a monolith. How many EL students are actually Mayans? How do our immigrant students (and even 3rd generation Americans) see themselves in this new plan. [/quote]
