I have lots of library cards and will put Libby holds on something using several. When one comes through, I cancel the rest…that’s why the wait is always less. Lots of people like me out there.
Are your cards in places where you live or own property or is there another way you can get access to a library system, and if so, is there a fee to do that?
Some are nearby libraries that have reciprocity with mine. But I also buy into a couple huge ones. For what it’s worth, Fairfax’s non-resident fee is $27. Queens (NY) is $50. Orange County (FL) is a bit more at $125. Queens and Orange County are worth it because their collections are enormous. If you are a big reader, you wind up saving a lot…and you’re supporting libraries! https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library/non-resident-library-card-application https://www.queenslibrary.org/get-a-card/eUser https://ocls.info/using-library/fees-fines/what-are-other-fees
