We have had three children go through the middle school and were very pleased with the experience. We found the teachers to be accessible, knowledgeable and knew just when to push and when to pull back. The poster above was partially incorrect-HS students were suspended and two HS students were expelled for vaping. The new headmaster is fantastic as is the middle school director. I encourage you to take a tour and see for yourself. There are a lot of trolls on this board who shit on the school-its unfortunate.
+1 We've got kids at FH too. We've been very pleased with the school academically. I think because it has a learning center for those who need it and it draws a sort of bell curve of student it gets dumped on as being no better than a public school. As someone whose kids came from public I will say that the small class sizes and attention to each student is wholly different than a public school and I think it has helped our kid grow academically in a way they wouldn't have been able to in public where you're just a number. We specifically chose it because it doesn't have a grinder reputation. We're not interested in that energy. As for kids getting in trouble, I know plenty of families with kids in NOVA publics other area privates and kids get in trouble all over the place. FH doesn't sound like an outlier.
