PSA - get your flu shots in August. people! At least two weeks before school opens. There is no reason to delay flu shots till October so that it can last till March. Your kids will mostly fall ill in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec - when school opens, and when there is much holiday travelling. It all calms down by Jan, Feb, March - because people get immunity. So, don't wait for your flu vaccine.
I didn't want to wait! We always see the pediatrician for an annual check up in late August/early September, but they didn't have flu shots this year, and then my kid got Covid the middle of September and was too sick to get a flu shot until October. I'd love to get them early but sometimes they are hard to track down in August. Usually by mid-september we can find them for all of us. It's frustrating because August would be easier since it's before school and activities start.
Nix the pediatritian. You get the shots at walgreens or cvs. Walk in and out.
