When I watch AuriKatrina cleaning on youtube, I saw her collecting all clothes in clear trash bags for the owner to clean later. She does the same for dishes - just puts it in cardboard boxes.  The owner can clean these later too.  It allows her to clean the house, the cupboards and cabinets. You need to do the same.

Once you have piles of clutter (shoes, toys, books..) you can go through them and do the keep, toss, donate categories and declutter at the same time.  Cleaners are used to seeing a whole lot of horrible hoarder kind of mess. They don't get fazed. Let go of your embarrassment.
