But given the newness of this med, it's still unclear whether at some point (maybe after you've taken for two years, or four, or whatever) there really is a "metabolic reset" and after that the med will no longer be necessary. There has just not been enough time to know. Similarly, it may be that there is some very low "maintenance dose" people can take once they achieve the primary health benefits. The idea of intermittent use is also one that may have promise: maybe people will revert back to their prior state if they stop the med, but can maintain if they take it once a month, rather than once a week, or something like that. In other words: no one really knows. I have also read the in the longer studies, side effects went down eventually as people adjusted to the med.[/quote]
