Philly is way more rough and dirty than dc by a massive magnitude The city has a lot of potential but the 2020s will be hard on philly I wouldn’t go unless you were an introvert that just worked at sig as a trader and went home and stayed in your mainline town The city itself is rough rough rough
We visited Philly as tourists from DC (had never been there before) and stayed downtown. I had a great time, thought the central area (Center City, is that it?) was fun. It felt alive at night, lots of shops open, had dinner and ice cream, everyone was out walking around the area. There is Constitution Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc. That part of town is wonderful. I don't know about the other parts. All cities have their dangerous areas. Our hotel downtown had a rooftop pool, so cool. Our kids loved it!!
