I went to an all girls school and got a great education, but my kids are in co-ed and the boys are funny and really make the classes lively - all the funny stories I hear are because the boys are doing something ridiculous. And my girls are friends with boys and girls, which is a nice dynamic for high school. I enjoy hosting the girls and boys for dinner. Last time they all had pizza here, it was the boys that cleaned everything up and brought the dishes to the kitchen.
DP. This is exactly why my daughter wanted to go to an independent, all girls school. She is a serious student and was so sick of the boys being loud and disrespectful. She is very happy.
Well that’s not what OP’s DD experience is. She does not like the all girls schools. She could also have problems with mean girls/social dynamics at an all girls school. Having boys arounds can reduce these types of dynamics.
My daughter at an all girls misses the levity that boys can bring to the class room. Her school isn't super strict per se, but seems to love rules. If we could go back in time, she'd choose co-ed too.
