Are there any vegan cheeses that actually melt? Looking for mozzarella at the moment. Thanks.
Trader Joe’s has this almond mozzarella shredded cheese that melts really well
Where do they keep it? I asked if they had vegan cheese and they said no. Wondering where to find it.
Opps. I guess it isn't vegan. It has whey in it...but it is still amazing! It is by the rest of the bags of shredded cheese
Just went to Trader Joe's. They have several kinds -- one is the one you mentioned (it has milk protein?? Something...) but they have two others that are vegan. Unfortunately they each have something we can't eat (yeast extract and something else) so I didn't get any of them. I did get the 365 "Plant-Based Mozzarella-Style Cheese Alternative" from WF. It has a strange taste out of the bag -- like Mozzarella-flavored cotton candy, or those jelly beans that are flavored like regular food. Can't put my finger on it. I made some cheese toast and it did melt, although it was not at all stringy. It's passable though. I'm going to try to make something with it.
