The public schools are very good, but you also get kids who are expected to achieve and parents who are very achievement-oriented. AP classes, extracurriculars, etc...it's a highly educated population and people are driven. Lexington is also a total burb -- whereas other top schools like Brookline or Newton are more urban, so I feel like may be a bit more diverse just in terms of why people live there, whereas if you're in Lexington it's for the schools.
