Beyond that, I think it's ridiculous for the GOP to decide they have the right to anoint some dipshit commentator a spokesperson for the Obama campaign and to keep trying to tie her around their necks after they (with undue sheepishness) them by forswearing her not very well chosen, but quite reasonable, words.  And the press, as a whole, let themselves be used by the GOP.

In brief, my opinion is that what she said is no big deal except for the distortion, willful or naive, that is going around.
