I did not blame President Obama for Rosen's statements. I just said that if you are inclined to vote for him and if you agree with Rosen, then you will defend her. Reread my post and you will see I am correct and that you are mischaracterizing my statements. I resent that you believe that your opinions are the final word on what women want. You lack any respect for democracy because you believe you are right and that the voice of the people as expressed through voting is unnecessary because you have it all figured out. I am a woman, a lawyer, a mother, a volunteer with disabled and children, an abortion veteran and thus pro-choice, and a Republican. Don't dare to pretend that you can speak for me. You are arrogant and self-centered and I thank God (that I do believe in) that we live in the USA where people like you only get one vote. I know that if we didn't have as strong a government as we do, you and your kind wouldn't think twice about taking away my vote because you believe to your core that you know better than me.
NP here. My first reaction to your response post here is "huh"? What are you talking about? "You and your kind" taking away "my vote"? Where exactly are you getting this stuff from? YUP--HER KIND IS THE KIND THAT THINKS SHE KNOWS BEST FOR ALL. READ WHAT SHE SAID. SHE THINKS ALL REPUBLICANS SHOULD STAY OUT OF WOMEN'S ISSUES. ISN'T THAT AKIN TO TELLING ME THAT MY OPINIONS ON SUCH MATTERS DON'T COUNT. NOT TOO MUCH OF A LEAP TO THINK THAT SHE WOULD BE HAPPY IF MY VOTE WAS SOMEHOW TAKEN AWAY. I THINK THAT MY RESPONSE TO HER WAS MODERATE AND MADE SENSE. And so what if a Democrat is more inclined to be sympathetic to Rosen. You - as a Republican - are more inclined to be sympathetic it Romney. But what does that have to do with anything? Of course Democrats are more sympathetic to liberal viewpoints. Duh...what do you think makes us Dems? LOVE THIS ONE. NO BIG DEAL TO ME IF A DEMOCRAT IS SYMPATHETIC TO ROSEN. YES, I MAY BE MORE SYMPATHETIC TO ROMNEY ON SOME ISSUES. WHAT IT HAS TO DO WITH IS THAT THE ORIGINAL POSTER WAS TRYING TO CAST THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND ROMNEY AS THE CAUSE OF THE HILLARY ROSEN CONTROVERSY. THAT IS JUST PLAIN POLITICALLY MOTIVATED SPIN AND BS. REGARDLESS OF YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS, IT WAS ROSEN WHO PUT HER FOOT IN HER MOUTH AND SHE VERY APPROPRIATELY ACKNOWLEDGED AS MUCH WITHIN A COUPLE DAYS. The irony is that YOUR post also comes across as arrogant. You don't get to speak for us either, but guess what? Neither does Ann Romney. OR Rosen, which is partly the point, isn't it? Rosen doesn't speak for Obama or working women or anybody. She is a paid consultant who appears on CNN...that's all. MY POST MAY SEEM ARROGANT TO YOU BUT YOU ARE PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH THAT I NEVER SAID. I NEVER SAID I SPEAK FOR ANYONE BUT MYSELF. I DIDN'T TELL DEMOCRATS TO STAY OUT OF CERTAIN AREAS OF POLITICS. I DIDN'T SAY THAT ANN ROMNEY IS A MODEL WOMAN OR REPUBLICAN. I DIDN'T SAY ROSEN SPOKE FOR OBAMA. NOT SURE WHERE YOU ARE GETTING ALL OF THIS. MORE SPIN I GUESS. Personally, Mitt can use his wife as his "economic policy advisor" all he wants. It will just help him alienate himself from average America all the more and lose the Presidency. AT LEAST YOU CONCEDE IT IS A PERSONAL VIEW. MOST PRESIDENTS AND POLITICIANS HAVE UNELECTED ADVISORS. SOME ARE FRIENDS, SOME ARE SPOUSES. IT IS NORMAL AND EXPECTED. IT WILL NOT ALIENATE HIM FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE CONSIDERING VOTING FOR HIM. LET'S BE REAL, YOU ARE NOT AND NEVER WERE. DO YOU THINK M. OBAMA TALKS WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA ABOUT THINGS? IS THAT DIFFERENT SOMEHOW? IF IT IS DIFFERENT, IS IT BECAUSE SHE IS WAS A LAWYER? I wholeheartedly believe that Ann Romney has "worked" - she has raised 5 children. That is work. Period. AGREE. But that doesn't mean she understands anything about the struggles working women face, and pretending that she does is laughable. Perhaps she is self-aware enough to be able to empathize with working women, but I think it is foolish to try to paint her as an expert on issues facing working women...
HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS? MONEY DOESN'T INSULATE PEOPLE FROM EVERYTHING. SHE HAS FACED LIFE STRUGGLES THAT WE ALL DO. DEATH OF FAMILY, THE CHALLENGES OF RAISING KIDS AND ALL THAT ENTAILS, HER OWN MORTALITY (HAD CANCER AND HAS MS). I CONCEDE THAT AS AN ADULT SHE HAS NOT HAD TO WORRY ABOUT MONEY (I DON'T KNOW ABOUT HER CHILDHOOD) AND SHE MAY NOT BE AN EXPERT ON THE ISSUES OF WORKING WOMEN. BUT NO ONE EVER SAID SHE IS AN EXPERT ON THAT. NO ONE!!! THE WHOLE DISCUSSION CAME ABOUT BECAUSE HILLARY ROSEN SAID ANN ROMNEY HAS NEVER WORKED. YOU ALREADY CONCEDED THAT RAISING KIDS IS WORK. ROSEN CONCEDED THAT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. WHEN THE ORIGINAL POSTER PUT UP HER COMMENTS AND TRIED TO BLAME THE WHOLE KERFUFFLE ON THE REPUBLICANS AND ROMNEY, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A BUNCH OF GARBAGE. I DON'T THINK THAT IS WHAT THE WHOLE THING IS ABOUT. IT ACTUAL COMES DOWN TO WHETHER MODERN WOMEN WHO WORK AND RAISE KIDS THINK THAT A WOMEN WHO HAS STAYED HOME AND MAYBE HAS HAD A MORE PRIVILEGED LIFE HAS OPINIONS THAT COUNT. NOT EXPERT OPINIONS--JUST OPINIONS THAT COUNT. I ASKED THE OP WHAT SHE THOUGHT OF ROSEN'S COMMENTS AND NOT SURPRISINGLY SHE HASN'T RESURFACED. I THINK IT IS BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HER COMMENT WAS STUPID AND NOW DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RESPOND. I have responded to each of your comments above using caps.
