A family eating a couple cans of water chestnuts a year in a stir fries (or my personal favorite, spinach dip) won’t have any adverse effect on health or longevity. Pears contain formaldehyde. Nightshades like potatoes contain the toxin solanine but I doubt you limit those in your diet because they’re poisonous. [/quote]
