But as part of a larger Spain/European trip, there are some really nice options. Will also say that the specific beach towns I have been to in Italy and Spain aren't really replicated in the US, in my experience. Everything is right up against the water, so you can rent a place 2 minutes walk away, and there are tons of places to eat/drink/gelato within a few hundred feet, and many of them are at least solid food-wise, and some are very good. I feel like in the US you either have to schlep to the beach, or if you stay close it's either a somewhat trashy beach town, or nice and super expensive. The nice towns we have been to in Spain and Italy have a great balance of all of it.[/quote] Also, there is often a train/bus option to get there, so you don't need to hassle with a car at all.[/quote]
