A lot of the people in the community are transplants from NY, Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc, but definitely not in the majority. So far people are not at all negative about the native Floridians. To the contrary, we exchange stories about how friendly they are - everyone is prone to greeting and chatting with strangers. I get called "hon", "sweetie", "honey", even though I am an Asian wearing a mask in an otherwise maskless store.

I don't agree 100% with Florida's politics, but it does align with our views a lot more. We are solidly Republican here in VA, but in FL, I feel like we are center-left. Most of the transplants we hang out with hold on to their liberal views and it shows that they are bit uneasy about that aspect of their life in FL, but yet they do all say that they love the actual people they meet every day.
