Been here since '72. Crack years were worse in terms of instances of violence but it was 95% contained to one population group. Your dime a dozen GS 10 Fed had virtually zero chance of being attacked.

Statistically being white in DC is virtually indistinguishable violence-wise than Fairfax or any other suburb that DCUM considers "safe," and being white in DC is virtually synonymous with being white collar regardless of your race - I guarantee those 102.4/100,000 murders happening to black people in DC don't include a lot of black Deloitte consultants.

The bottom line is despite the DCUM hysterics and media fearmongering, anyone who is in a position to be posting on DCUM during the workday (i.e. your "dome a dozen GS-10 Feds") has absolutely nothing to be afraid of in DC.
