OP here. Thanks for all these ideas!!! A lot of these sound great — and I’ll have a fun week testing them out. :) We were going to do a heavy dinner but then the engaged couple decided they wanted more mingling and chatting so we switched it up. Here’s the current menu, minus desserts: - Paani Poori - Bhajji Fondue w/ Pav bites - Batata Bao Buns - Paneer Shashlik - Indian grazing boards (kachori, chakoli, nuts, biscuits, mini samosas, chutneys) - Bhalla Papdi Chaat - Watermelon chat - Paneer Tikka Kathi Rolls (60pcs) - Veg sliders (*60pcs*) - Corn Bhel
Sounds delicious! Since the menu is quite chaat-heavy I'd steer clear of flavors like tamarind, black salt, jaljeera etc in the drinks, it may be be overkill. I think my original suggestions (I'm the PP who asked for the menu) may actually work great! You could also try curry leaf infused vodka or tequila for the sour-type drink. Another option is what I call a Mumbai Mule. Instead of ginger beer, make your own ginger & spice syrup to mix with the vodka and lime and top with soda. A mango lassi spiked with coconut rum could be good too for a richer option.
