More accurate than the other ridiculous one. I think the other USNWR ranking was concocted to appeal to those who are obsessed with LACs and mediocre privates pretending to be elite schools (e.g. Rice, Vanderbilt, ND, WashU etc.). There will be plenty of " only look at the undergraduate programs etc. non-sense arguments to try to boost these smaller type of institutions.   [/quote]
Except these aren’t merely “arguments” when your kid can’t get admitted to these “pretender” elite schools. But go ahead and instead have your kids apply to those schools on this list where most applicants get admitted, congratulate them on their subsequent matriculation to a truly “elite school,” and pat yourself on the back for such savvy parenting.[/quote]

So tired of posters boosting up no name LACs since their kids only managed to get into barely recognized LACs. Research and graduate programs counts, Nobel, Turing, Fields, Pulitzer etc. all counts as well. [/quote]

Mom and dad have to have some positivity in their lives, let's just all agree to give them their props and go on with our lives even when their kid is at some no name school that is smaller than a high school in the middle of nowhere.[/quote]
