There were so many things about the 2nd episode that broke my brain. Layers upon layers of weirdness!

Did anyone else catch that when the lady was whisper-praying on the couch, she seemed to be quietly seething? There was something about the tightness in her voice and the way she emphasized the words. I’ve been obsessed with wondering what the backstory was to that anger. Doubt we’ll ever find out, as viewers, and I’m not sure why I even care. Guess it’s because the woman’s personality feels like a puzzle I e failed to solve, and that bit feels like a clue. [/quote]

I am a Christian and I don’t pray out loud unless I am with someone else, so she was obviously trying to “deliver a message” to the production staff, including Fielder.  My mother would do something like this, and my mother is pretty crazy.

Watching Angela was a little triggering for me, which is one of the reasons Fielder’s shows are so much more than what they seem to be.  I felt bad for her being single at 44 but also recognized that she was a total weirdo.  I also saw a lot of what I see in devout, perpetually single women who expect red blooded American men to tell them what they want to hear.  It was all just very painful to watch.[/quote]
