pre-covid, I don't recall there being shirts sold at this meet either.
Seems like kind of a big missed opportunity, both from a fundraising perspective and from a elevating the long course season as something special and worth it perspective. I know those JO shirts are highly coveted haha.
When there are some meets were hosts aren’t stepping up, we need to remember that when teams do offer to host. Complaints a few days ago about divisional relays, now this. Yes, kids love the shirts and they should be offered - however no shirts but a team to run the meet is more impt.
Comparing a PVS champs meet to NVSL divisional relays is a bit of a stretch. There are large clubs involved here who make a ton of money off of their athletes (and their parents), it shouldn’t be considered stepping up, putting on these meets is part of what you do as a club.
Surely it’s not that hard to arrange for a vendor to come in and do shirts, right? Should be a requirement of hosting. Even our tiny team managed to bring in a vendor for our flagship swim meet.
Update: a woman sitting next to me said that the center (venue) said no shirt vendors can sell on the premises.
