I would at least ask for an extension to allow you to get multiple quotes, and also because most roofing companies are going to need longer than a week to start work even if you hire them today.
+1 It is completely unreasonable for them to expect that you can get a roof replaced in one week. You will need to call and talk to a supervisor there. Also, when you took the policy, did you do it directly with Travelers or through an agent? If you used an agent, then get him/her involved pronto. We don't usually use agents for things but insurance is one area where we do because it has paid off for us. Our agent usually will go to bat for us on stuff like this. Of course, if you went independent, then don't beat yourself up. You did what you thought was best at the time. Good luck. But one week is not doable. They will need to allow you time to get multiple quotes. In the meantime, redact what you need to from the inspection and send the roof portion to them.
