The old system led to several complaints to the Department of Education under President Obama that ultimately were not pursued. The new system led to a federal court ruling that the new system violated the U.S. Constitution. If the far-left School Board in San Francisco decided to revert to a merit-based admissions process for Lowell, that may well portend similar changes to TJ down the road. The current system has not worked smoothly. And while there is a cohort of students whose access to TJ has been enhanced due to the changes, there is also a cohort of students whose access to TJ has been impeded due to the changes. There are also many other parents who otherwise don't care that much about TJ, but do care that it's become such a gigantic time-suck. [/quote]
