Gas in CA is about $6.50ish/gallon. Eating out become more expensive because of higher wages and higher rent costs for the restaurant. Everythingin HI is more expensive because 99% of their stuff has to be shipped in, so the transportation cost is baked into the final cost. These are just some of the things that cause an area to be considered "hcol".[/quote]
