That McDonald's should NOT be open 24 hours a day. That is just asking for trouble. Nothing good ever happens at 3:50am. I hope they start closing at 11pm. Or better yet, it should sell to Starbucks or another coffeehouse.
I heard CVS and a few banks are eyeing the place.
Oh great, just what we need. Banks and CVS add so much character to the neighborhood. And to PP - why the hell should that McDonalds NOT be open 24 hours a day, or any time they want to be open? Did you ever hear of people leaving or going to late night jobs at, say, Sibley Hospital that might want a cup of coffee or Egg McMuffin on the run? Is your solution to just concede that "we can't have nice things" because someone else is going to ruin it for everyone?
I agree with you in principal, but the truth is that 24-hour places are a magnet for crime in almost any community. My brother worked at a 24-hour Circle K out west, and they had so many armed robberies overnight. That was back when people still used more cash, and of course they sold liquor there which is always an attractive item to steal, but it happened even in the "nicer" neighborhoods. I think most business find that if they just close a few hours between 1 and 4 or 5, that makes a world of difference.
