There are things, looking back, I regret. But the one thing that really sticks out to me is how I allowed a bully to single out a very timid boy in the middle of our cafeteria. The timid boy was bald (I knew of him, but didn't know him, so I don't know why he was), and this football-playing ogre just stood up in the lunch room and started picking on him, calling him "gay", etc. It was just so vicious and I really wish that I would have been the person I know I was and stood up to the bully. To this day, if I see any sign of bullying or any sign of something wrong, I immediately step in and take action. Never again do I want to feel like I could have don't something and didn't.
This is me too - not sticking up for kids who were being bullied. And there was one kid in particular who had a TERRIBLE time all throughout our school years. I didn't participate, but I didn't help him either. I think about him from time to time now and feel awful. I think about what his Mother must have felt like too. I ran into her while I was home on break from college and couldn't even look her in the eye. I'm tearing up thinking about it now. Wish I was stronger then.
