He’s raising a lot of money. So who’s funding him?
Developers.
Wow, the evil developers! Heaven forbid anyone build multi-unit housing in Montgomery County, an aging and declining county when housing is getting built west of the Potomac! Those developers are so greedy!
Developers are greedy. That much is true. We need them to build housing but the problem with Hans is he’s so focused on developers making money that he’s only helped them boost their profit margins while housing production has plunged to record lows and prices have soared. That’s Riemer’s track record. I don’t know why anyone believes he’ll fix housing when his track record says otherwise. Blair is right about the county needing job growth above all else, and Riemer’s frequent dishonesty and flip-flopping make it impossible for me to trust him. I’m voting for Blair.
Yup. This is 100% true. It’s also very telling to me that Blair is actually focused on how to revitalize DTSS and all Hans wants to talk about is “density along the purple line and 355”, meaning promoting development not in his backyard and further subsidizing and juicing developer profits in the only places that developers are currently only interested to build because it’s already profitable.
