I’ve never understood why so many liberals hate Riemer. I kind of get why conservatives do, except that I don’t understand the ones that hate Riemer more than Elrich. In a perfect world, I’d vote for Riemer. But I’m first-and-foremost voting against Elrich, and I think Blair has the better chance at this point.
The problem with Riemer is he’s a liar and doesn’t stand for anything (except for subsidies for companies). Just yesterday he put up no fight and voted to scale back the new Silver Spring plan. Had this not been an election year, he definitely would have voted differently.
It’s hurts his narrative and his TPSS brown shirts when multi-racial Silver Spring communities have risen up in unified opposition. His brown shirts even intentionally took over neighborhood associations to block organized opposition but this outcome clearly demonstrates where the politics are on whether these multi-racial communities agree that SFH is racist and he and his white buddies (and one Black guy) repeatedly claim are necessary for racial justice. It’s funny to see them confronted with this and claim that it’s false consciousness, which is the hilariously ridiculous urbanist fall back when confronted with that fact that people don’t want to live with their aesthetic. Because it really just comes down to an aesthetics, which explains the lying and projection. If it wasn’t an election year and Riemer didn’t need these peoples votes, he would’ve have done what he’s always done in these cases, he would have made some bald faced lies to the community. Claimed that their concerns will be addressed in subsequent actions at a later date and then walked away and take no responsibility for outcomes. The guy lacks integrity and he really needs to go and find a new career path. He got a 12 year job he did poorly because he was “Obama’s campaign youth organizer” 6 months. Such is the power of incumbency and TPSS block voting.
