White students have negative peer pressure too. There is clear research showing that teachers expect less of Black students and subject then to worse punishments for the same behavior compared with White students. I wouldn't be very motivated under those circumstances either.[/quote]

I'm curious about how "clear" this "research" is that you're citing and whether it has been done for MCPS, but in my experience, MCPS bends over backwards to accommodate BIPOC students.[/quote]
