Local level 4 is pretty new at our school, it started this school year. When I asked our principal about it he didn't know what I was talking about. I had to explain it and tell him other schools were doing it. He was asking about what criteria was used to determine who was principal placed as he didn't want to just arbitrarily place some students.
Is your school using the cluster model? Just curious because it seems that many of the new programs are cluster models which means that Principal placement is probably less of a thing only because every child is suppose to be getting the LIV curriculum.
What is cluster model?
LIV kids are clustered in groups of 4-5 in Gen Ed classroom. The Teacher is supposed to use the LIV curriculum for all the kids with differentiated tasks for the different kids. At least, that is how it has been described here. Instead of having all the LLIV kids in one class, they are clustered in Gen Ed classes.
I wonder how the Principal is going to decide who would be in the same class as the level IV kids (probably just 1-2 classes out of 6 at my school).
You can FOIA it
Can you tell me more about how to do this?
https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/policies-regulations-and-notices/virginia-freedom-information-act-vfoia You have to tailor the request, but you can get anything that doesn't contain PII from the principal or AARTs e-mail or computer
