I am the poster above. That was not the case for my family at all. My oldest sister got the most attention and financial resources. Then she got married and had kids and got the most attention because of that. My parents had less money when I was younger because they were spending on college tuitions, etc.

What she was doing was always more important than what I was doing. She got new prom dresses for every prom, I wore the same prom dress to all five proms. She got to buy a new dress for high school graduation, I wore a hand me down. She had a lavish wedding we all planned. She didn’t help me at all with my wedding and my parents gave me the same dollar amount for my wedding as hers even though I got married fifteen years after she did (hello, inflation). We all went to drive her to college and to her college and grad school graduations and it was this huge deal. My parents didn’t even come to my graduations after high school.

Everything she was doing was always more important and valued. And my two sisters are much closer to themselves than to me since they are closer in age.
