For me, low carb is more sustainable long term than calorie counting (which you have to do even in maintenance if you don’t want to gain the weight back). I’m ok going the rest of my life with bread, rice, pasta and such not being diet staples. What I realized doing keto is that I don’t love those foods as much as I used to think. I loved the flavor they conveyed (e.g., the sauce on the pasta). You can still have all that flavor without the carby medium. [/quote]
