If you're from an area with older homes and or little new construction, your first reaction may be to equate hardi-plank with vinyl siding. However, it's common around here and these homes are certainly holding their value. From the window of my study, I can see a construction crew demolishing a very nice, all-brick rambler and my guess is that the home that will replace it will be a larger, more expensive hardi-plank house.
