I would not judge the students by the color of their skin - it's a diverse area which to some people is a bonus. 
The aftercare is what it is - songs, coloring, some physical activity, playground time - not a lot of extras like you will find at some of the wealthier schools. You can talk to Sandra Montgomery about it during one of their weekly open houses on Thursday mornings.
Agree that the middle school is not acceptable right now, although Barnard IS adding a 5th grade this year. If you are in any of the "lesser" feeder zones, though, this is a problem you are already familiar with.  [/quote]
