What is MCPS doing to stop these types of crimes towards MCPS students by staff members? Is Dr. McKnight proposing any changes to improve student safety? Or is it just wait and see who’s arrested as the standard protocol?
Do you have any input as to what can be done? As a teacher, I am just unsure how this could be prevented by any higher ups.
There is no overseer to ensure safe practices are followed in terms of: locker room safety, coaches having personal phone calls. Text/app messages, meeting with students during non-school time, etc. Given the high rate of abuse among sports, there should be. Beyond that, there should be a holiness to anonymously report infractions. There should be training every season about keeping kids safe. These are easy things to do. Mcps has the staff.
