I disagree that you change from friends to acquaintances because you haven't seen each other in person in some time. Are you no longer a capable employee because you are no longer in office? When people were separated for an entire year during Covid did they stop being family?

I think seeing each other in person once in a while is necessssry, it is a way to nurture threlationship. I live far away from my family but I cannot even think to never see them in person again even if I could ‘zoom’ with them ten times per day. We are social animals..
Same thing with coworkers. Most companies could keep their employees working remotely but realized an even minimun in person interaction is important to create a team spirit and to keep people that are still able to relate to each other in am appropriate way (did you notice coworkers getting socially awkard after relating only online for months?)[/quote]

Maybe for a job is still ok (depending on the field) but can you really imagine a family with only virtual interactions? Same with friendships
