I think when parents are looking for "magnets" Parkland offers the type of program they're seeking. Since Loiederman is magnet isn't an academic subject, it doesn't jump out to families specifically looking for a magnet program. Transportation isn't offered, so there's really no reason for MCPS to pick and choose who wins the lottery.
